Tiberian Sun Piracy Worry

German version of Tib Sun hit Internet before launch

Westwood's latest Command & Conquer game Tiberian Sun got off to a flying start at retail last week but the launch was clouded by news that the German version had filtered onto the Internet. Trade paper MCV reports that a stripped-down version was posted on the Internet four days before the game's pan-European launch.

The FMV had been cut and the multi-player and online options were not working. The site was eventually closed, but EA fear that it could have spread to other sites.

Nonetheless, Tiberian Sun shifted 45,000 copies in the UK last weekend, so it's not all bad news.
