Tuesday, the hangovers kick-in at London show
With the clearest head in the house, your ever-faithful Future Gamer agent snooped among the stands at the European Computer Trade Show at London's Olympia. Models preened, young men gawped; yes, it was the same old ECTS. However, Tuesday was the last day of the show and the good denizens of Olympia looked somewhat the worse for wear.
Full to the brim of paid-for PR booze consumed at flash parties, the last thing people wanted to do was play games on the Tuesday. But as luck would have it, your Future Gamer agent had travelled from deepest Somerset that very morn and was as bright as a summer's day.
It was a strange show, in that Sega quite literally didn't show (they chose to do their 'own thing') and others were conspicuous by their absence. Electronic Arts, anyone? Infogrames had the lowest of low profiles, hidden upstairs as they were, where no man dares to tread.
Still, Prince Naseem Boxing's coming on nicely, and Perfect Dark looks pretty much like GoldenEye. Other than that, your agent can conclude his report with the predictable news that we can look forward to sequels galore this Christmas.
Come on down Dreamcast. The platform is yours...
