New version of Saboteur on the way
Future Gamer's ears have been buzzing with all the rumours circulating at ECTS, but the one we're especially excited about is the news that the classic Speccy game Saboteur from Durell Software (who are still going but who now specialise in software for the insurance industry) is to get an overhaul.
Informed sources tell us that the game's being developed by Warzone 2100 coders Pumpkin Studios and is due to come out some time next year. The original Saboteur turns you into a Ninja mercenary whose job is to break into a warehouse and escape with a disk of secret info by helicopter from the roof. But it's no secret that this game links the skills of other martial arts games with the cunning of a mazer (mapping is essential to get through those rooms and sewers) and the beat-the-clock tension of an arcade thriller.
We don't know but we're guessing the premise of the game will be similar, but all turned into lovely 3D at the very least. More when we get it.
