Star Trek: New Worlds - Official Developer's Statement

Binary Asylum, developers of Interplay's Star Trek: New Worlds game, slated for a November release, have gone to the wall. Here's what their Director has to say.

On August 31 1999, CDGM Entertainment Ltd, trading as Binary Asylum, were forced to cease trading. The directors were given no other option than to take this action due to financial circumstances beyond their control. The Directors of CDGM were surprised and bitterly disappointed by the turn of events that resulted in the decision to cease trading, particularly because it resulted in having to make the eight remaining employees redundant.

Director Bob Wade said: "I'd like to thank all the people who have worked for Binary Asylum over the years for their unfailing commitment. I couldn't hope to work with a more dedicated and loyal group of people than they have been. I'm just sorry that at the end of the day they have not reaped the rewards they all so richly deserve for their efforts."

Mr Wade added, "I'm also sad that we will no longer be able to bring to the public the creativity, originality and superior gameplay that distinguished Binary Asylum games. Everyone associated with Binary Asylum should be proud of what we have achieved against all the odds, and one day I hope those achievements will be fully recognised."
