| ECTS: Best Game of the Show |
We wandered round the stands, keeping our eyes firmly on monitors and off flesh and have seen the game that, for us, was the best thing there.
You won't find it on any of the stands though. You won't even find it in one of the hospitality suites being shown to a select bunch of 'favoured' journos as the game isn't finished. It doesn't have a publisher and the release date is anyone's guess. It's called Tyrannosaurus Tex and is being developed by a small outfit called Slitherine Software, lead by ex-Psygnosis coder Ben John. It's a 3D first-person shooter on Game Boy Color and the early code we've seen is fantastic. Think Wolfenstein 3D and you'll have a good idea of what it's like. The game features cowboys and dinosaurs and even supports a deathmatch mode via a link cable.
Get that! Deathmatch with your mate on a Game Boy Color - with you running around as a dinosaur and your chum armed with a six-shooter! In 3D! In colour!
Slitherine are currently looking for a publisher and we reckon they'll be snapped up pretty quickly so we'll bring you more news when we hear anything.
