| MDK2 Delay Confirmed |
Interplay's highly anticipated action title pushed back until next year
As if the pain of Shenmue wasn't enough for Japanese gamers, the Dreamcast's holiday line-up in the States took a considerable blow as sources at both Interplay and developer Bioware confirmed the delay of their upcoming action title, MDK2, until some time in January 2000.
The official date now stands at January 19, which is a considerable jump from the game's original Q4 release date, but Bioware's Greg Zeschuk assures us that the delay is for the best. "We wanted to make sure we got everything right, and unfortunately, with our old schedule we wouldn't have had time to get everything in and still be able to work all the bugs out."
Considering the promise shown by this title, we'd rather wait a few extra months for a more polished product. At the same time, this certainly doesn't bode well for the console's holiday plans, which continue to lack a killer-app to go head to head with the likes of Nintendo's Donkey Kong 64. Let's hope Sega are waiting in the wings with an early release of Crazy Taxi...
