Ubi Soft Sign Taxi 2 Licence

French film to be made into racing game

French film Taxi was France's second biggest film at the box office last year, and a sequel, cunningly named Taxi 2, is planned for release in April 2000. Written by Luc Besson (of Leon and The Fifth Element fame), Taxi 2 features two Mediterranean anti-heroes who hurtle around Marseilles and Paris in a Peugeot. Lots of car chases, lots of juvenile humour. It's a farce. Okay, so there's a bit more to it than that, but you get the gist.

Anyway, French developers Ubi Soft have signed a licensing agreement to make the game of the film and it's set to release at the same time as the film on PC, PlayStation, Dreamcast and Game Boy Color. So, if you like your obscure-French-films-made-into-games, this could be right up your street.
