| Konami Grab F1 Licence |
Japanese giants bolster sports range
Konami have gazumped Nintendo to win the rights to distribute Video System's next incarnation of their F1 World Grand Prix series. Video System have used Nintendo to distribute the previous versions in the last couple of years, and Konami will see this snatch as a considerable coup (might not do their relationship with Nintendo much good, though!).
The original F1 World Grand Prix was well received by N64 gamers, who had waited a long time for a decent F1 game (Bizarre Creations' excellent F1 '97 having made such an impression on the PlayStation). The new F1 World Grand Prix will appear next year on Game Boy Color and N64.
