Syphon Filter 2 Confirmed

Not only confirmed, Eidetic's surprisingly good stealth-action game is coming sooner than you think.

We learned today that Syphon Filter 2 is coming to your PlayStation as soon as March 2000, according to a good source inside 989 Studios.

The working title, "Syphon Filter 2," is the name for the sequel to the original, which stormed gamers' PlayStations this past February, stealing the US top-selling spot for months afterward. A secondary subtitle is sure to be made clear when the game is officially announced. So why the silence? 989 Studios haven't said anything official about the sequel just yet because it wanted to reintroduce the original as a winter holiday gift this year.

While we don't know what the story is just yet, the game proper is made up of dozens of new levels similar to the first, full of variety and difficulty. It's more or less a whopping add-on and more of the same goodness that made up the original.

As for a Syphon Filter on PlayStation2, 989 Studios and Eidetic are also definitely working on a PS2 version, we can only tell you "It's coming".

More when we get it.
