Konami and Universal Get Close

The two companies enter a deal to create and distribute movie-licensed games.

Konami has announced an alliance with Universal Interactive Studios to develop and market videogames based on Universal movie and TV licenses. Universal Interactive Studios will develop the games while Konami will market and distribute the titles in the US, Japan, and Europe.

There is no specific word on which systems will see the games from the two companies, but Universal is already working on titles based on Jurassic Park, Dr. Seuss' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, Woody Woodpecker, and more. The first titles from this pairing will hit the shelves Spring 2000.
