Jane's USAF
Last week we ran a mini-review of Jane's USAF, a superb flight sim that we deemed worthy of a staggering 94%. In fact, we loved it so much that we've been playing it all week (in our lunch hour, of course). However, this extensive 'playtesting' has brought a number of pesky bugs to light:
There's a bit of a problem when using wingmen in the Quick Mission Editor. Start the mission from in the hangar and your wingmen dart across the grass and explode before you've even got to the runway. This can be overcome by starting in the air, but Jane's USAF is a flight simulator and taking off is an essential part of the experience.
To complete the 'Night Practice' training mission, you are told that you must land back at your base. We did this and the mission was still incomplete. We then tried taxiing back round to the hangar and shutting down the engine but to no avail. If we could have actually stepped out of the plane, believe us, we would have.
Other problems include sound cutouts and disappearing ground textures, which occur intermittently. Sounds like they've really slapped this one together, doesn't it? They haven't at all - it's still a superb game and we're still playing it every day, but please EA - sort us out a patch, will ya? We will report again on this as soon as we've tried a patched version.
Just thought you ought to know.
