Dreamcast, get your Dreamcast

HMV accept pre-orders for Sega's new console

Are you desperate to get your mitts on a Dreamcast? Well, HMV (His Master's Voice, as it happens) are already taking pre-orders, according to trade paper MCV. Slap down a deposit of £30 and you're guaranteed a Dreamcast on the day it launches. Which is September 23. A Thursday, if you were wondering.

"We've had a good response from consumers and taken a number of deposits," HMV's Doug Bone told MCV.

Other retailers are expected to take deposits for Dreamcast in the not-too-distant. It'll be interesting to see how Sega publicise Dreamcast in the coming weeks and how big the pre-orders are. Future Gamer will be getting one, be in no doubt (we've already got a Japanese import). Let's hope that Sega release the fabulous fishing frolic Get Bass over here - check out this week's preview.
