Silent Hill misses demo slot

Konami frightener drops from OPSM demo CD

Konami's Resident Evil-style PlayStation frighten 'em up, Silent Hill, has been pulled from the Official UK PlayStation Magazine's demo CD. OPSM's cover disc, regarded as the best marketing tool for publishers to display their wares, does not accept demos which are unsuitable for children under the age of 15. Apparently, some 30 per cent of the magazine's readership is under 16.

SCEE's UK marketing director, Alan Welsman, told trade paper MCV: "The decision on Silent Hill was made in consultation with Sony. With interest in violent videogames heightened across the globe, we think that it was a mature and responsible decision by Future".

Seventy per cent of the magazine's readership had no comment to make at the time of going to press. To those of you over 15, Silent Hill is actually a tremendous game.
