Championship Manager 3: Season 1999/2000

The best just got that little bit better...

Eidos and Sports Interactive have announced that Championship Manager 3: Season 1999/2000 will be released this December. It's not an add-on though; it's actually the full game with updated stats and a host of other improvements. Quite what this means for existing CM3 owners is as yet unknown (surely they don't expect you to buy the whole game again!).

Oliver Collyer, joint Managing Director at Sports Interactive, said, "Championship Manager 3 took footy management to a new level of detail and realism when it was released. However, there were so many new ideas and features we wanted to implement, but didn't have the time. The game has given us the opportunity to listen to our fans and improve the game according to their requests."

So what exactly has been improved? Here are the highlights:

  • Improved match engine.
  • Extra match commentary.
  • Improved media involvement, including transfer rumours, agent approaches and dressing room unrest.
  • Ability to assign scouts to individuals, clubs or tournaments.
  • Clubs will have the ability to improve stadium facilities/increase capacity.
  • The option to manage a team in the American MLS for the first time.

What a result! Mac owners will be over the moon with the news that Championship Manager 3: Season 1999/2000 will also be released on their system of choice.
