Fantasy writer Michael Moorcock's world to be realised
Moscow-based developers Snowball Interactive are currently beavering away on a new adventure RPG based on the works of one of the world's premier fantasy writers, Michael Moorcock.
Elric of Melnibone is due for a PC, Dreamcast and next-gen consoles launch in the second half of 2001. It follows the story of the novel, as Elric attempts to sustain his empire and regain his bird, Cymoril (sounds like a foot powder to us), while fighting off his arch nemesis Yrykoon (which sounds like a county of Alaska). Elric will have to recruit and command armies in the game and achieve his goals through strategic planning and tactical combat.
Elric of Melnibone is the first in Moorcock's seven-book Elric saga. We have no news as to whether any other Elric books are due to get the novel-to-game translation.
