November is Dreamcast Month in Japan

Full details on Japan's jam-packed November release list

Japanese gamers have been starved of quality Dreamcast titles of late. Sure, there have been a few brilliant games such as Soul Calibur, Seaman and Let's Make a J-League Pro Soccer Team, but it will take a lot more than this to feed the hungry gamers in the land of raw fish.

When the month dial turns November, though, all will be good. With 13 major Dreamcast titles set for release (along with a few Mah Jong and table game titles), Sega should see a dramatic upswing in sales. Of course, in addition to gamers in Japan, rabid importers will be able to pick these games up in order to keep their Dreamcasts from collecting dust.

November 3

  • Space Griffin, by Panther: this is a high-resolution (and highly delayed) Dreamcast version of the Space Griffin series of first person shooters.
  • Langrisser Millenium, by Masaya: a good deal of information on this game was recently unveiled on the web.

    November 11
  • Chu Chu Rocket!, by Sega and Sonic Team: this puzzle game comes to us from Sonic Team, makers of everyone's favourite hedgehog.
  • Super Producers, by Hudson: a simulation game in which you manage a Japanese pop star.
  • Giga Wing, by Capcom: a Dreamcast port of the arcade shooter.

    November 18
  • Speed Devils, by Ubi Soft: Dreamcast version of PC racer Speed Busters.

    November 25
  • F1 World Grand Prix, by Sega: this game will be coming out in Europe some time next month as well, and we already have a preview of it.
  • Maken X, by Atlus: true to form, Atlus have provided us with yet another evil, evil game. Whether or not it's any good is still up in the air, especially following negative opinions from the Tokyo Game Show.
  • Death Crimson 2, by Ecole: sequel to quite possibly the worst game ever made, this game has a heroine who has an actual email address, and when you email her, she actually responds. This game will use the light gun.
  • Jojo's Bizarre Adventure, by Capcom: 2D Capcom fighting? You bet! Consider this a precursor to the real fighting game, Street Fighter 3, set for release in December.
  • Go Golf, by Bottom Up: this is the sequel to Hot Shots Golf.
  • Zombie Revenge, Sega: who doesn't know about this game? Its delay earlier this month made us cry.
