| PS2 DVD Fully Capable |
Despite rumblings that PS2 will be DVD-lite, reports indicate that it'll be fully functional
According to several Japanese news sites, the reports that PlayStation2 will only have limited DVD capabilities is actually false and was simply a mistranslation of a Japanese magazine. It appears that PlayStation2 will be able to use all of the functions of current DVD players, such as multi-angles and different language tracks.
Furthermore, it was mentioned that Sony Computer Entertainment plan to showcase some of the DVD playback capabilities of PlayStation2 at their PlayStation Festival 2000 in Japan on February 19 and 20. Sony intend to flaunt the DVD playback capabilities by having it play The Matrix on DVD.
We'll have full coverage of the upcoming PlayStation Festival 2000 in Japan and will hopefully have solid information with regard to PS2's DVD capabilities at that time. Stay tuned for more information.
