PlayStation2 Compatibility Issues

Some old software may not work properly

It has come to our attention that Sony have encountered a few compatibility issues with PlayStation2. While the new system will be backward compatible with the original PlayStation, some of Sony's extensive back catalogue will not function properly. It is believed that video images and sounds may be disrupted.

The news has sent Sony shares down in Tokyo, closing at 28,890 yen (around £165), down 2.3 per cent from Wednesday's close.

Sony were unavailable for comment at the time of writing, although all should become clear at the PlayStation2 event in Tokyo on February 18.
