| Another Star Trek Game? |
We can go one better than that - it's a real-time space strategy game
Salivating already? Yeah, us too, at least over the initial concept. This is Simon & Schuster's second game in the Deep Space Nine category, called Dominion Wars. Fans of the show will recall the title from the last few seasons of the programme. The Federation, in alliance with the Klingons, are fighting to gain control of the Alpha Quadrant (who wants that nasty old Beta Quadrant? And don't even get me started on the Upsilon Quadrant). The enemies in this scenario are the Cardassians and the evil Dominion Alliance.
The game will focus on tactical space combat. You'll be able to recruit captains and control up to six ships from four different races. Apart from those mentioned above, you'll also be able to recruit the Jem 'Hadar. Dominion Wars will be built around the Quantum engine and is being developed by Gizmo Games, headed by Gary Wagner. The title is slated to come out in autumn 2000.
