Nintendo Hype Game Boy Advance

Japanese press reports on the prowess of the next handheld system from Nintendo

Nintendo representatives in Japan are starting to comment on the capabilities of the next handheld system, the Game Boy Advance, due for release late next year. To compare the system power, representatives have stated that, like the Game Boy Color's ability to have near-perfect versions of NES games, the Game Boy Advance will have enough power to enable programmers to accurately recreate existing games from the Super NES.

As predicted, the system will also have, at the very least, rudimentary 3D polygonal capabilities. How these will compare to systems like PlayStation or N64 remains to be seen, but since the system will contain a 32bit processor, the power of the Game Boy Advance will be a much larger leap than the Game Boy Color was over the Game Boy.
