Chrono Trigger Tops Japanese Console Chart

England goalie back in at number 10

The PlayStation conversion of Square's classic RPG Chrono Trigger has stormed to the top of the Japanese all-format console chart, with first week sales of 113,709. Originally released on the Super Nintendo back in 1995 to widespread critical acclaim, the PlayStation version is a faithful port with a few new cut-scenes.

Other movers this week - Pac-Man World 20th Anniversary for PlayStation jumped straight in at number three after a modest 32,235 total sales. Vivarium's barmy Seaman: Forbidden Pet on the Dreamcast is the big surprise of the week, re-entering the chart at number 10 after registering a further 20,166 sales.
