Sony have released some information on Chase The Express, their forthcoming Metal Gear-alike for PlayStation. The action is set on an express train travelling across Europe, taking in 30 cities in 12 different countries along the way. There are three main characters - Jack Morton (a NATO soldier), Christina Wayborn and Boris Zugoski - charged with rescuing the French Ambassador and his family, who've been taken hostage by terrorists. Hopefully we'll get some more info when the game is released in Japan this winter.
Midway have announced that Hydro Thunder will be coming to both PlayStation and N64 early next year. As if that's not enough excitement for one day, they also mentioned that the arcade sequel is already in development.
Reports on various Japanese websites suggest that Fuji Television Network are planning to release a brand new TV with a built-in Dreamcast next spring. Some say it looks like a regular telly with four controller ports at the bottom. Let's hope it's also got somewhere to stick the GD-ROMS!
The Japanese are going mad for anything emblazoned with Hello Kitty. Konami are wasting no time cashing-in, with the announcement of a new version of their Dance Dance Revolution handheld called Bemani Pocket Dance Dance Revolution Hello Kitty. This cute accessory will be released in Japan on December 23 and features seven songs - Butterfly, Friends, Moving On Without You, Hold On Me, Whatever, Steady and Ride On Time (surely not that awful Black Box cacophony!). On a more perverse note, the system comes complete with a Hello Kitty finger doll - just pop your finger up her butt and dance along...
Sega of Japan have announced a few new Dreamcast peripherals that will go on sale in December. The Millennium 2000 controllers will be released on December 16 and will come in four semi-transparent flavours - lime green, passion pink, smoke and blue. A special Twin Stick designed for use with Virtual ON Oratario Tangram will be available when the game launches on December 9, along with a Battle Cable which enables two Dreamcast's to engage in some head-to-head mayhem.
